GlobalStar consultants are uniquely qualified to staff Lawson related projects. The majority of GlobalStar consultants are formerly of S3G, so in addition to passing Lawson's rigorous training and certification courses, they are also proud graduates of S3G's Software Consulting University (SCU) - which required successful completion of a 6-12 week syllabus of rigorous Lawson-based application, technical and consulting oriented education.
Functional Consultants have attended and passed Lawson certification programs, in addition to passing SCU courses that were developed to intensely prepare new software consultants for full project lifecycle tasks, like: 10 Commandments of Consulting; Setting Realistic Expectation Management; Gaining User Community Buy-in; Identifying Team Characteristics; Allocating Resources (with and without Backfill); Defining Deliverables; Successfully Incorporating MS-Project; Training in Lawson CASE tools, database and file structures; and more! These SCU courses included a solid base of classroom curriculum infused with lots of hands-on experience, intranet-based training exercises, CBTs, mentoring, and self-study.
Technical Consultants have completed the same in-depth level of training as the Functional Consultants - even attending Lawson certification classes - but they were not required to obtain Lawson certification. Technical Consultants are also trained in all Lawson-related application development tools and languages to assure that the most expeditious, yet Lawson-friendly, development methodologies are utilized.
Project Managers – 10 Years ERP Project Management Experience
GlobalStar Project Managers direct the project and are responsible for ensuring that all goals have been met.
Primary project team liaison. Manages the team and oversees the entire project. Maintains close interaction with Client personnel to define a project scope, translate processes into detailed functional requirements and design specifications. Develops detailed work plans, creates timelines, estimates required hours for tasks and allocates resources as appropriate, insuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Prepares and approves reports for Client review, including time and expense reporting for GlobalStar consultants. Works closely with Client management and attends project steering committee meetings to report on project status.
Functional Analysts/Consultants - Minimum 10 years Lawson, PeopleSoft Experience
GlobalStar Functional Analysts work on the reviews, analysis, specification development, and testing.
Provides functional and analytical skills to help Client personnel define scope of business needs, translating processes into detailed functional requirements and/or Lawson design specifications, leads the Client through business process re-engineering by giving attention to present and proposed operations, providing transition support, and defining gap resolution. Has demonstrated and proven analytical abilities, with working knowledge of relational database structures. Provides custom training materials and education.
Technical Analyst/Consultants - Minimum 10 years Lawson, PeopleSoft Experience
GlobalStar Technical Analysts have an unparalleled expertise for managing and expediting a variety of critical tasks, including the: "software patch" process; development of conversions, interfaces, and custom report/programs. Technical staffing is dependent on the level of deliverables specified for the project time line.
Identification of actual "bugs" within the Lawson/PeopleSoft programs eliminating need for first checking any/all other possible causes. Research/analysis of the hundreds of available patches to determine if one or more might adequately address the bug(s) and, if no patch has been released, communicate the type of patch needed to the Lawson/PeopleSoft staff - down to the file/data string level to expedite patch production. Analyze the patch(s) BEFORE it is applied to make sure that it will fix the bug WITHOUT causing other issues. Provides programming skills for conversions, the modification or development of reports, screens, files, or vendor enterprise software, with the ability to program and effectively debug in the Client-defined programming language. Responsibilities include writing custom system documentation to Client specifications using working knowledge of the business process. May develop unit or full system testing scenarios and conduct appropriate testing.
System, DataBase Administrators - Minimum 10 years Lawson, PeopleSoft Experience
GlobalStar System/DataBase Administrators have a unique insight into the needs of Client managers and users. They offer extensive knowledge of the specialized system requirements needed to effectively and efficiently support Lawson/PeopleSoft systems. GlobalStar System/DataBase Administrators are available to do as little or as much as a Client feels that they need, with solid knowledge transfer along the way to assure continuity. Technical staffing is dependent on the level of deliverables specified for the project time line.
Management of or assistance to internal IS staff and/or outside vendors (Lawson, PeopleSoft, Oracle, etc.) during all BHCS system design, set-up, and configuration including: Initial system design and set-up; Installation and configuration of O/S, RDBMS, ERP software, etc.; Security design and set-up; File and Database size design and configuration; Pre and Post Production support; Identification of actual "bugs" within the programs eliminating need for first checking any/all other possible causes; Research/analysis of the hundreds of available patches to determine if one or more might adequately address the bug(s) and, if no patch has been released, communicate the type of patch needed to the Lawson/PeopleSoft staff - down to the file/data string level to expedite patch production; Analysis of the patch(s) BEFORE installation to verify it will address/fix the bug without causing other issues; System and O/S performance tuning.
PRE-SCREENING: All GlobalStar consultants are pre-screened and/or come highly recommended by GS consultants who have worked closely with them on other Lawson or PeopleSoft projects. GlobalStar consultants are also required to pass a thorough background check that meets or exceeds industry expectations.
